After enjoying “The Faceless Old Woman…” so much, I really wanted to read their other books. So I started with the oldest one.
The premise is literally about things getting devoured in the town, whole buildings with people.
It is full of quirky characters and their odd way of life. I regret not ever watching twin peaks because from what i understand, this universe has that vibe. However the seemingly endless references to quirks about the town can become distracting from the storytelling because there’s just no respite from them.
The book follows a few characters, the main one being a scientist trying to figure out whats going on. It wasn’t as exciting as the faceless old woman book, but became more charming as it went on.
