A really enjoyable story that captures a time and place so different than my own it makes for such an interesting read.
The main character is flawed but lovable and you root for her the entire time.
It reminds me a little of Memoirs of a Geisha, in the way the main character can’t seem to catch a break despite her heroic efforts to improve her life. But it all works out in the end.
I highly recommend this book. I would read it again. It was a quick 3 day read.
I’m going to look for more books by this author.
