This is a big book so I thought it would take weeks to read. But I devoured it in 5 days.
This was a fantastic story about the women who served in Vietnam as nurses. I loved that it didn’t devolve into a romance happily-ever-after.
The second half of the book centred around the main characters returning home, and was devastating to hear how the veterans of this war were treated, especially the women. Even though it was not as enjoyable as the first half. It was excellently written and it needed to be told.
Much of the book was heavily inspired by real people and events.
